NASSAU, Bahamas — Member of Parliament for Long Island Adrian Gibson and Minister of Public Works Desmond Bannister met with the developers of the proposed $1.5 billion Port St. George resort project for Long Island, which could begin initial work at the end of the first quarter of 2019, a statement from Gibson revealed, the Nassau Guardian reported December 14.
The statement explained that Gibson and Bannister sat with Star Resorts Group President Duane Gerenser, Port St. George principal and board member James Moss, and attorney Sean Callender, where they discussed the plans for the mixed-use, luxury condo/resort property.
“We were informed that initial works are projected to commence in the latter part of the first quarter of 2019,” the statement said.
“They stated that first phase of the construction will see the dredging and development of the harbor/marina… 640 slips, construction of 60 units, and the build-out of a soccer field, baseball/softball field, tennis court, a cricket pitch, the 18-hole golf course/golf club and a track.”
