NASSAU, Bahamas, October 15, 2024 — Deputy Prime Minister Chester Cooper, Minister of Tourism, Investments and Aviation and MP for the Exumas and Ragged Island, today posted a collection of photos on Facebook and I absolutely had to share some of them with readers of my Washington, D.C. — based online publication, BAHAMAS CHRONICLE, which  has a huge following among the Bahamian diaspoa across the United States, Canada and the Unted Kingdom as well as in The Bahamas and the wder Caribbean.

DPM Cooper posted the photos with the following narrative:

Today, with over 2,000 travel agents on board, we acknowledge the crucial role played by our travel partners and guests in driving record-breaking visitor arrivals to The Bahamas. Cruising is a vital economic driver for our nation. In 2023, we welcomed 7.77 million cruise visitors, injecting $707 million into our economy through shopping, tours, transportation, dining, and various onshore activities. By showcasing The Bahamas, we are fueling this growth and ensuring our islands remain the destination of choice.
