A NIGHT TO REMEMBER: SPECTACULAR DINNER AT THE KENNEDY CENTER HIGHLIGHTS EVENTS IN WASHINGTON, D.C., CELEBRATING THE BAHAMAS’ 50TH ANNIVERSARY OF INDEPENDENCE

WASHINGTON, D.C.-A spectacular dinner at The Kennedy Center highlighted the events held by The Embassy of The Bahamas and the Embassy Consular Annex on the weekend of July 28, 2023, to celebrate the 50th anniversary of The Bahamas’ attainment of independence from Great Britain.

Guests were welcomed by His Excellency Wendall Jones, Bahamas Ambassador to the United States; His Excellency Chet Neymour, Bahamas Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the Organization of American States (OAS); and the Hon. Patrick Adderley, Bahamas Consul General to Washington, D.C., who each brought remarks at the event.

The evening was filled with excitement and exuberance in commemorating a once-in-a-lifetime moment in Bahamian history, with entertainment from the Royal Bahamas Police Force Pop Band, performances by the Maltese dancers, and a junkanoo rush out.
