NASSAU, Bahamas, June 28, 2019 — The Lynden Pindling Foundation posted this powerful and inspiring message on Facebook from Her Excellency Dame Marguerite Pindling as she officially demitted office as Governor General of The Bahamas on June 28, 2019:
“To my fellow young Bahamians, you can be anything you want to be, look at me , I am a testimony of that. I left school at 14 with no college education but I have a masters degree in common sense. With hard work, fierce determination, a kind and loving heart, and most importantly, a love for my Lord and Savior I was able to reach the highest position in our country. I want you to realize that what has happened to me can happen to you. But remember what ever you seek to do, you must always remember to help people. My life’s work has been to help people, uplift, encourage and support people. Be kind and love one another. I truly believe that love is the answer.
But now I am done. I have run my course. I have finished the race. I did my best.
Thank you and goodbye.
Long live the Commonwealth of The Bahamas!”
