WASHINGTON, D.C., — May 11, 2023 – The Hon. Clay Sweeting, Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Local Government, and his staff paid a courtesy call on His Excellency Wendall Jones, Bahamas Ambassador to the United States,, on Wednesday, May 10, at the Bahamas Embassy , 600 New Hampshire Avenue, N.W.

The team was in the US Capital attending the AIM  for Climate Summit, which brought together more than 500 stakeholders from the public and private sectors with a view to increasing investment in climate smart agriculture and innovation for agrifood systems.

Held at the J.W. Marriott May 8 –10, the three day summit was supported by Foundation for Food & Agriculture Research (FFAR).and attracted policymakers, industry leaders, producers, civil society representatives, scientists and researchers from across the world. The aim is to accelerate the implementation of innovations to guarantee food and nutrition security. Close to 50 governments from across the world participated in the initiative.
