WASHINGTON, D.C. — His Excellency Sidney Collie, Bahamas Ambassador to the United States and Permanent Representative to the Organization of American States (OAS), along with Economic Attaché Ronique Brown met with Congressman Vern Buchanan,  Representative for Florida’s 16th Congressional District, at his congressional office on Wednesday, June 16, 2021.

Congressman Buchanan is a self-made  businessman and well respected statesman with over a decade of experience within the government and private sectors and over 40 years of travel to The Bahamas.

He currently serves as a member of the powerful Ways and Means Committee of the U.S. House of Representatives which has jurisdiction over international trade, healthcare and welfare.

During the meeting, Congressman Buchanan and Ambassador Collie discussed the long-standing friendship and trade relationships between The Bahamas and Florida. In this regard, Congressman Buchanan expressed his commitment to forging stronger ties with The Bahamas, with great emphasis on the Cruise Line Industry.

Other matters of mutual interest were also discussed.
