WASHINGTON, D.C. — His Excellency Sidney Collie, Bahamas Ambassador to the United States and Permanent Representative to the Organization of American States (OAS), met with Mr. Tim Martin, Vice President, Commercial and Sales, and Ms. Jennifer Nugent-Hill, Director, Governmental and Community Affairs of Tropical Shipping, on Wednesday, December 4, 2019, at the Embassy of The Bahamas, 2220 Massachusetts Avenue, N.W.
Mr. Martin and Ms. Nugent-Hill updated Ambassador Collie on Tropical Shipping’s ongoing commitment to the people of The Bahamas as the country recovers from the devastating impact of Hurricane Dorian.
The pair also briefed Ambassador Collie about their Relief Scholarship Program for some students from Marsh Harbour, Abaco, who are attending college in Palm Beach County. They further advised that in partnership with The Lyford Cay Foundation, Tropical Shipping was able to contribute $84,000 toward the initiative.
Abaco and Grand Bahama sustained catastrophic damages from the fury of category 5 Hurricane Dorian when it slammed into those two northern Bahamian islands the first week of September.
