WASHINGTON, D.C. — His Excellency Sidney Collie, Bahamas Ambassador the United States and Permanent Representative to the Organization of American States (OAS), participated in a panel discussion on “Building Resilience into Communities Impacted by Natural Disasters” at MGM National Harbor on Wednesday, October 2, 2019.
During his presentation, Ambassador Collie discussed the impact of Hurricane Dorian on The Bahamas, highlighting the need to build more resilient communities that can withstand such devastating storms that frequent The Bahamas year after year.
The panel discussion was one of many held during Smart Cities Week Washington D.C., an annual gathering that “aims to bring together public and private sector visionaries, including officials from all levels of government and leading companies actively deploying smart technologies in cities around the globe, leading-edge companies and cutting-edge solutions in fresh and exciting ways,” according to the event’s website.
