AMBASSADOR JONES ON “WORKING VISIT” TO CAPITOL HILL

WASHINGTON, D.C., July 26, 2022 – His Excellency Wendall K. Jones Bahamas Ambassador to the United States, outlined the needs of The Bahamas in the wake of the devastation caused by Hurricane Dorian on Abaco and Grand Bahama during meetings  held today with a number of U.S. Senate and House members.

In his meeting with Senator Roy Blunt (R-Missouri), Ambassador Jones got assurance  from Senator Blunt of support of his committee for certain infrastructural projects in The Bahamas.

Senator Blunt serves as the Chairman of the Senate Republican Policy Committee and as the Ranking Member of the Senate Rules Committee.  He also serves on the Senate Appropriations Committee; the Senate Commerce, Science and Transportation Committee and the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence. He is also the Ranking Member of the Appropriations Subcommittee on Labor, Health and Human Services, and Education. On the Senate Appropriations Committee, he also serves on the Defense and State and Foreign Operations Subcommittees.

The Senator occupies the same office in the  Russell Senate Office Building occupied by former President Harry Truman when he was Senator.
