Ambassador Wendall Jones used the occasion of a courtesy call on Rep. Frederica S. Wilson to present her with a copy of a book on The Bahamas’ 50th Independence Anniversary that was produced by Jones Communications Network.

WASHINGTON, D.C., December 5, 2023 — His Excellency Wendall Jones, Bahamas Ambassador to the United States, recently paid a courtesy call on Congresswoman Frederica S. Wilson, Representative for Florida’s 24th Congressional District, which includes parts of northwest Miami-Dade and southern Broward counties.

Although she was Born in Miami, Congresswoman Wilson has deep familial roots in The Bahamas. Commenting on the courtesy call by Ambassador Jones in the narrative that accompanied several photos on her Facebook page, she said, “As the first and only Bahamian member of Congress, I was so happy I got the chance to meet with Ambassador Wendall Jones of The Bahamas. I look forward to finding ways to uplift The Bahamas & build stronger partnerships between my office, the United States, and The Bahamas.”

Ambassador Jones, a career journalist who was President and CEO of Jones Communications International Limited in Nassau before his diplomatic appointment, used the occasion to present Rep. Wilson with a copy of a book on The Bahamas’ 50th Independence Anniversary that was produced by Jones Communications Network.
