AMERICAN WOMAN ACCUSED OF PLOTTING HER HUSBAND’S NURDER RELEASED ON BAIL

NASSAU, Bahamas — An American housewife accused of conspiring with two Bahamian men to kill her husband on Abaco was on Wednesday freed on $100,000 cash bail, The Nassau Guardian reported on Thursday, August 10, 2023, in an article written by  Artesia Davis.

Lindsay Shiver, 36, hopped into a Mercedes-Benz after she was tagged with an ankle monitor as a condition of her bail.

Prosecutors say Shiver, her alleged lover Terrance Bethel, 28, and Faron Newbold Jr., 29, came up with a plan on July 16 to kill her estranged husband, Robert Shiver.

Police stumbled across the alleged murder conspiracy while Bethel was being questioned about an unrelated crime for which he was not charged.

The alleged co-conspirators chatted and smiled with each other during a brief status hearing before Justice Cheryl Grant-Thompson.

The judge heard an emergency bail application in their absence on August 1, after Acting Director of Public Prosecutions Cordell Frazier withdrew an initial objection to their release.

The change of position occurred after speaking to the virtual complainant, Mr. Shiver.

Although Shiver’s cash bail was posted since last week, she remained in custody until she provided the court with the address where she will stay while in Nassau, as she’s prohibited from leaving the jurisdiction until her next court date on October 5 without permission from the court. Lance Petersen, a representative from the American Embassy, also took possession of her passport.

Meanwhile, her co-accused through their lawyer Owen Wells requested new charging devices for their ankle bracelets to avoid them being accused of violating their bail conditions.

They were each released on $20,000 bail on August 3.

All of the accused have daily curfews of 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., and are prohibited from coming within 100 feet of Mr. Shiver.
