ST. LUCIA — The opening ceremony of the 40th Meeting of the Conference of Heads of Government of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) at the Royalton St. Lucia Resort was live-streamed. It was a very impressive opening ceremony during which United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres was the Special Guest Speaker. Other speakers included the incoming CARICOM Chairman, Prime Minister Allen Chastanet of Saint Lucia; outgoing Chairman, Prime Minister Dr Timothy Harris of St. Kitts and Nevis; and CARICOM Secretary-General Ambassador Irwin LaRocque. All of the speakers were good, but St Lucia’s Prime Minister Chastanet delivered and absolutely great speech in welcoming his fellow Prime Ministers and other participants.
