WASHINGTON, D.C., March 5, 2024 — The Office of Bahamas Prime Minister Philip E. Davis today posted a collection of photos on Facebook that were taken at “an inspiring event” held at Kendal G.L. Isaacs National Gymnasium in Nassau that I absolutely had to share with readers of my Washington, D.C. – based online publication, BAHAMAS CHRONICLE, which has a huge following among the Bahamian diaspora across the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom as well as in The Bahamas and the wider Caribbean.
The narrative that accompanied the photos taken at The Office of The Prime Minister’s “Step-Up Pep Rally, anti-crime rally, and expo” noted that hundreds “of 12th-grade boys from both private and public schools across New Providence” participated in the event.
“The atmosphere was electric as students were welcomed by esteemed speakers, including Prime Minister Philip Davis, Minister of Education and Technical and Vocational Training Glenys Hanna Martin, Minister of Youth, Sports, and Culture Mario Bowleg, His Excellency Sebastian Bastian, and anti-crime activist Pastor Carlos Reid,” the narrative noted.
It added, “In his remarks, Prime Minister encouraged the students to use their God-given energy, creativity, ideas, and imagination to help continue to build the country. He ended by urging students to “step up, as a new generation of Bahamian entrepreneurs, to help us build a stronger, more dynamic economy.”
