ATTENTION FOOTBALL FANS: HERE’S A SUGGESTION WHILE WATCHING SUNDAY’S SUPER BOWL

By OSWALD T. BROWN

WASHINGTON, D.C., February 6, 2021 — I am really looking forward to Sunday’s SUPER BOWL game featuring Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Kansas City Chiefs, and although I am a dyed-in-the wool Washington Redskins (aka Washington Football Team) fan, I shall be pulling hard as hell for Tom Brady to lead The Buccaneers to victory. If you are anything like me, I know that you are also looking forward to seeing the various Super Bowl commercials, which over the years have become as popular as the game itself.

To maximize your viewing pleasure – especially those of you experienced heavy snow storms earlier this week as we did here in Washington, D.C.  – during  one of the game breaks when a not-too-exciting advertisement is being aired – I invite you to copy the link below to the Bahamas Ministry of Tourism advertisement that aired during the 2013 Super Bowl and take a “tour of dreamland” as you think about how pleasurable it would be if you can transport yourself, if only for a couple days, to The Bahamas and enjoy its sun-drenched beaches and exciting nightlife.

Former Bahamas Minister of Tourism Obie Wilchcombe spared no expense in promoting The Bahamas as one of the world’s leading tourist destinations in the attached 2013 Super Bowl advertisement featuring Bahamian former professional basketball star and actor Rick Fox.   And by the way, despite this dreadful COVID-19 pandemic, The Bahamas is still open for business.

Indeed, the Ministry of Tourism has taken extraordinary steps to ensue that “the health and wellbeing of all who enter or reside in The Bahamas remain the number one priority, and diligent efforts are enforced to minimize the spread of COVID-19,” as noted in a recent Ministry of Tourism announcement.
