BAAWMAR ANNOUNCES LEADERSHIP TEAM FOR 2024 – 2026

WASHINGTON, D.C. – December 23, 2023 — Declaring that The Bahamian American Association of the Washington DC & Mid-Atlantic Region (BAAWMAR) has plans for “a 2024 filled with fellowship and community and we will be sharing details soon,” BAAWMAR has announced the Association’s newly elected Board Members for 2024-2026.

With Khandra Sears remaining at the helm of Association as its Chairman, other officers include:

Matthew Rose, Vice-Chair Finance; Hanna Baker, Vice-Chair Membership; Mikhail Bullard, Vice-Chair Communications; Monique Rolle, Treasurer; and Katarlah Taylor, Secretary.

“Hanna Baker and Mikhail Bullard were re-elected to the positions they have held for the past four years,” BAAWMAR noted in an email, which also expressed a special thank you to Katarlah Taylor and Matthew Rose “who have agreed to continue on in their roles after being written in as candidates.”

BAAWMAR’s goal is to serve and connect Bahamians, Bahamian Americans and Friends of The Bahamas living, studying and working in Washington D.C., Maryland and Virginia and beyond.

It aims to promote educational, cultural, scientific, spiritual and artistic contributions of Bahamians in the Washington, DC & Mid-Atlantic Region and in The Bahamas and collaborations with American institutions at various levels.

It also aims to bring together Bahamians and persons interested in Bahamian culture in the Washington, DC Metropolitan Area, to create friendships, national unity, and mutual assistance to charitable, educational, and cultural institutions in need of assistance in the Washington, DC & Mid-Atlantic Region and in The Bahamas.
