BAHAMAS 50TH ANNIVERSARY OF INDEPENDENCE CHURCH SERVICE HELD AT METROPOLITAN AME

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The events held in Washington, D.C., to celebrate the 50th anniversary of The Bahamas’ attainment of independence from Great Britain culminated with a church service at the Metropolitan AME Church on Sunday, July 30, 2023.

Staff from the Embassy of The Bahamas, the Bahamas Permanent Mission to the Organization of American States (OAS) and The Bahamas Embassy Consular Annex, the along with the Bahamian diaspora were in attendance.

Consul General Patrick Adderley bringing remarks at the church service

During the service, Consul General Patrick Adderley brought remarks, during which he thanks to the Lord “for our beloved nation” and. highlighted how the Lord has greatly blessed “our beautiful Bahamaland over the past 50 years.”

A brunch was held immediately following the church service in the church hall, where the fellowship continued in a celebratory spirit.
