BAHAMAS AMBASSADOR JONES SIGNS BOOK OF CONDOLENCE AT MALAWI EMBASSY

WASHINGTON, D.C., June 18, 2024 — His Excellency Wendall K. Jones, Ambassador of The Bahamas to the United States, today signed the book of Condolence at the Embassy of the Republic of Malawi expressing the sympathy of the government and people of The Bahamas on the passing of the Vice President of Malawi Saulos Chilima.

Mr. Chilima died last Monday as he was flying to the northern town of Nkhata, where he was to attend the funeral of a former cabinet minister. The military aircraft in which he was a passenger crashed because of poor visibility caused by bad weather.

He had been vice president since 2014 after working in the private sector.
