BAHAMAS AMBASSADOR TO THE UNITED NATIONS IN GENEVA PAYS INTRODUCTORY COURTESY VISIT ON THE SECRETARY-GENERAL OF ITU

GENEVA, Switzerland – Her Excellency Patricia Ann Hermanns, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of The Bahamas to the United Nations Office and other International Organisations in Geneva, on Monday, June 27, paid an introductory courtesy visit on HE Houlin Zhao, Secretary-General of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU)

“The SG was pleased to welcome her to Geneva and used the opportunity to highlight the great strides The Bahamas has made in the development of the Telecoms and the ICT,” the Permanent Mission noted in a tweet.

Ambassador Hermanns presented her credentials to Tatiana Valovaya, Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva, on May 11.

Prior to her appointment in Geneva, Ms. Hermanns had been working as a banking and insurance executive with over 40 years of experience in the financial services sector in the Bahamas and was  the Director of the National Insurance Board of The Bahamas from September 2017 to May 2018.

Ms. Hermanns has a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Miami and a bachelor’s degree in economics and Spanish from New York University.
