WASHINGTON, D.C., August 17, 2024 — The Bahamas Consulate and the Ministry of Tourism are collaborating to participate at The Island Lime Festival at Union Market in Washington, D.C., on Saturday, August 24, 2024 from 2-10 pm.
“We invite you to stop by to support our tent and partake in the food, music and culture that will be on display both from The Bahamas and the wider Caribbean Region. The Bahamian tent will also be giving away prizes including stays in The Bahamas to participants so you don’t want to miss out,” the Bahamian American Association of the Washington, DC & Mid-Atlantic Region, (BAAWMAR) noted in an invitation posted on Facebook today.
The Facebook post added, “Feel free to share notice of next Saturday’s festivities with your friends, colleagues and fellow Bahamians that you know in the area.
“Volunteers to support the tent’s operation throughout the day would also be appreciated, so if you are able to, we also encourage you to support the team from the Consulate and Tourism in this way. Feel free to reach out to one of our own BAAWMAR members, Mrs. Dornell Watson-Dean, at dwatson@bahamas.com to advise if you would like to support the Bahamian tent.
