WASHINGTON, D.C. – Representatives of the Embassy of The Bahamas to the United States of America and Permanent Mission to the Organization of American States (OAS) participated in the Inter-American Defense Board’s (IADB) Conference on Natural Disasters on Tuesday, December 3, 2019.
Held at the Inter-American Defense Board headquarters in Washington, D.C., the conference examined the effects of recent emergencies and natural disasters in the Western Hemisphere, including Hurricane Dorian and the wildfires in the Amazon rainforest.
During the conference, Ms. Jade Williams, Third Secretary, delivered a presentation on Hurricane Dorian’s impact on The Bahamas. Also attending the conference was Ms. Ieshia Deveaux, Second Secretary.
Established in 1942, the Inter-American Defense Board is an organ of the IADB that seeks to provide the OAS and its member states with technical and advisory support on regional matters related to military and defense.
