NEW YORK, N.Y., July 18, 2024 – His Excellency V. Alfred Gray, Bahamas High Commissioner to Ottawa, today paid a courtesy call on the Hon. Leroy F. Major, Bahamas Consul General to New York,, along with Mrs. Natasha Cunningham, co-author of the Amazon bestselling book, “Pledge to Excel: An Anthology Highlighting & Honoring Bahamian Women’s Excellence.”

The book is co-authored by 10 Bahamian women, giving narratives of their respective fields. The women give readers an insight into the experiences, trials and tribulations that make Bahamian excellence. Mrs. Cunningham explained that the book represents a “symbol of who we are as a nation; we are resilient Bahamians.”

It was commissioned by Her Excellency Dame Cynthia Pratt, Governor General of The Bahamas, an is being share around the world, with the visit to New York being Mrs. Cunningham’s first stop in to present a copy to The Bahamas Consulate General New York.

Joining Mrs. Cunningham on her courtesy call was Mrs. Beryl Edgecombe,co-president of The Bahamian American Cultural Society.
