WASHINGTON, D.C., September 3, 2023 –The Hon. Michael C. Fountain, Bahamas Honorary Consul in Chicago, continues to do an excellent job diplomatically representing Bahamians in the Chicago-area diaspora while also promoting The Bahamas as one of the world’s leading tourism destinations.
Mr. Fountain does not seem to miss a beat. Today, he published two photos on Facebook that I had to share with readers of my online publication BAHAMAS CHRONICLE, which has a huge following among the Bahamian diaspora across the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom as well as in The Bahamas and the wider Caribbean.
Honorary Consul Fountain posted the photos with the following narrative:
“Craig Ferguson thank you for a great event at the Rialto Square Theatre; from Shark Week to your former show, to your recent time there, we appreciate your ongoing love and support of The Bahamas.”
More than eight years after ending his late-night talk show on CBS, Craig Ferguson earlier this year struck a deal with Sony Pictures Television for a new program that recently started airing. On the program, called “Channel Surf,” Ferguson and his comedian friends dissect the week’s most-discussed pop culture and newsworthy moments.
“Channel Surf with Craig Ferguson” is produced by Whisper North, a division of Sony Pictures Television-backed production company Whisper, and is distributed by Sony Pictures Television as well. Ferguson and Tom McLennan, managing director of Whisper North.
EDITOR’S NOTE Honorary Consul Fountain has represented The Bahamas in the Midwestern United states since March 6, 2014. However, although the Bahamas Consulate in Chicago was accredited on March 6, 2014, Mr. Fountain was officially introduced as The Bahamas Honorary Consul to the Chicago community by the then Foreign Affairs and Immigration Minister Fred Mitchell at a reception in Chicago on Friday, September 5, 2014. The states served by Mr. Fountain include Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North and South Dakota and Wisconsin.
