BAHAMAS MINISTER OF SOCIAL SERVICES, INFORMATION AND BROADCASTING HOSTS RECEPTION IN NEW YORK

NEW YORK, N.Y. —The Hon. Leroy F. Major, Bahamas Consul General to New York, on Tuesday, March 12, 2024, attended a private reception hosted by the Hon. Myles LaRoda, Bahamas Minister of Social Services, Information and Broadcasting, for the staff at the Ministry of Social Services Information and Broadcasting on the occasion of the 68th session of the United Nations Commission of the Status of Women.

Also in attendance were Bahamas First Lady Anne Marie Davis; Peter John Goulandris, Bahamas Maritime Authority Board Deputy Chair; Deputy Consul General Nestor Sands, and staffers from the Permanent Mission of The Commonwealth of The Bahamas to The United States.

The 68th annual Commission on the Status of Women (CSW68), the Unted Nation’s largest annual gathering on gender equality and women’s empowerment, is currently being held from March 11 – 22, under the priority theme, “Accelerating the achievement of gender equality and the empowerment of all women and girls by addressing poverty and strengthening institutions and financing with a gender perspective”.
