BAHAMAS OPPOSITION LEADER PHILIP “BRAVE” DAVIS MEETS WITH SENIOR FELLOW OF THE BROOKINGS INSTITUTION IN WASHINGTON DC

WASHINGTON, D.C., April 10, 2021 – Philip “Brave” Davis, leader of the opposition Progressive Liberal Party (PLP) in The Bahamas, who is currently in Washington, D.C. for “a series of wide-ranging economic policy discussions,” yesterday met with Ms. Marcela Escobari, a Senior Fellow in the Center for Sustainable Development in the Global Economy and Development program at the Brookings Institution, where she is leading the Workforce of the Future initiative.

Describing their conversation as “inspiring,” Mr. Davis said, “We discussed differentiating our tourism product, linking light manufacturing and tourism, opportunities connected to remote work, and workforce development.”

Mr. Davis had earlier met with Mr. Daniel Runde, the Director of the Project on Prosperity and Development at the Center for Strategic and International Studies.

The PLP leader arrived in Washington, D.C. on Thursday evening and is scheduled to return to The Bahamas on Sunday.
