BAHAMAS RED CROSS APPOINTS NEW GOVERNANCE, RISK, AUDIT AND COMPLIANCE COMMITTEE CHAIRMAN

NASSAU, Bahamas, May 20, 2024 — The Bahamas Red Cross Society has announced the appointment of Derek Smith, Jr. as the new Chairman of its Governance, Risk, Audit and Compliance Committee. Mr. Smith brings extensive experience in risk management, auditing, and compliance to the role, having held senior positions at several leading financial institutions in The Bahamas and the Caribbean.

In his new position, Mr. Smith will lead the Committee in overseeing the National Society’s governance practices, risk management processes, internal controls, and compliance with relevant laws and regulations. His expertise will be instrumental in ensuring the organization’s continued transparency, accountability, and adherence to the highest ethical standards.
