BAHAMIAN DELEGATION PARTICIPING IN 144TH NATIONAL BAPTPST CONVENTION PAYS COURTESY CALL ON AMBASSADOR JONES

WASHINGTON, D.C., September 5, 2024 — Some 54 Bahamian Baptists who were attending the 144th annual sessions of the National Baptist Convention USA, Inc paid a courtesy call on His Excellency Wendall Jones, Bahamas Ambassador to the United States, on Wednesday, September 4.

Led by the newly elected President of The Bahamas Baptist Misssionary and Educational Convention Bishop Delton Fernander, the group travelled from Baltimore, Maryland, where the meeting was being held to the Bahamian Embassy in Washington DC.

Welcoming the delegation, Ambassador Jones spoke of the “goodly heritage” of Baptists in The Bahamas and their struggles for social justice and their triumphs in reaching the commanding heights in government and leadership in the Bahamian society.

Accompanying the delegation were Reverend Doctor William Thompson, a Vice President-at-large for NBC-USA; Reverend Daniel Nottage, Executive Secretary; and Reverend Trajean Jadorette, First Vice President of BBMEC.

The annual session of the 144th National Baptist Convention convened in Baltimore September 3 – 5. Events will take place between the Baltimore Convention Center and the Hilton Baltimore Inner Harbor, located in the heart of downtown Baltimore.
