BAHAMIAN PRIDE ON FULL DISPLAY AT FLAG-RAISING CEREMONY

During the ceremony, Yamacraw MP Zane Enrico Lightbourne underscored the importance of all Bahamians, particularly young people, possessing national pride and participating in the celebration of Independence.

NASSAU, Bahamas — MP for Yamacraw Zane Enrico Lightbourne, Minister of State in the Ministry of Education and Technical & Vocational Training, posted a  collection of photos on Facebook on Monday, July 3, 2023, and we decided to share some of them with readers of BAHAMAS CHRONICLE, which has a huge following among the Bahamian diaspora across the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom as well as in The Bahamas and the wider Caribbean. They were posted with the following narrative:

And just like that, Bahamian Independence Festivities have begun. In collaboration with the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Culture we celebrated the nation’s 50th Independence Anniversary with a flag raising ceremony on Friday, June 30th, 2023.  Staff from both Ministries gathered near the entrance of the Ivy Dumont building to join Bahamians throughout the nation and around the world in celebration of National Flag Day.  During the ceremony, I underscored the importance of all Bahamians, particularly young people possessing national pride and participating in the celebration of Independence.

This weekend MOETVT Officials, staff and other public and private organizations took part in the Bahamas “Road to 50” Independence float and parade. Our beautiful aquamarine, gold, and black shone brightly as they cascaded throughout our island on the beautifully decorated floats. Our Bahamian Pride was truly on full display!

Don’t forget to take note of the remaining events leading up to Independence Day celebrations!
