BAHAMIAN SCRIPPS NATIONAL SPELLING BEE PARTICIPANTS VISIT BAHAMAS CONSULAR ANNEX

WASHINGTON, D.C., May 30, 2019 — Members of the Bahamian group currently in Washington, D.C. for the 92nd Scripps National Spelling Bee – including the three Bahamian Spelling Bee participants – visited the Bahamas Embassy Consular Annex, 1025 Vermont Avenue, N.W., today, Thursday, May 30, 2019, and were welcomed by both His Excellency Sidney Collie, Bahamas Ambassador to the United States and Permanent  Representative to the Organization of American States (OAS), and Mr. Theo Neilly, Bahamas Consul General to Washington, D.C. Although they spelt both of their onstage words correctly, The Bahamas’ three spellers  did not advance to the finals because they did not score high enough in the preliminary written tests.
