FLASHBACK: Devereaux E. King is pictured at his graduation from Saint John Vianney College Seminary in Miami in May of 2019 with his mother Leonardette Ross-King (left), his father Danny King (right) and sisters Amadi King (secnod from left) and Christina King

Devereaux is the son of my cousin Leonardette Ross and Danny King, and I remember attending their wedding at St. Francis Xavier Cathedral on December 21, 1991 as if it were yesterday. I was living in Washington, D.C., at the time and I flew down to Nassau from D.C. for the occasion, and recall being asked to propose a toast at the reception.

Devereaux is also the grandson of my late cousin Sylvia Elliott Ross, who as I have noted on several occasions in articles I have posted on Facebook was very instrumental in helping to steer my life in the right direction from I was virtually a baby growing up with my grandparents Ben and Mabel Elliott at Stanyard Creek, Andros

Devereaux graduated from Saint John Vianney College Seminary in Miami on Wednesday, May 8, 2019 and subsequently was accepted into Saint Meinrad Seminary and School of Theology in Indiana to continue his quest to become  Priest of the Roman Catholic Church, which has nurtured and sustained the spiritual growth of members of his family throughout the years.
