A BOLD VISION FOR CAT ISLAND
CAT ISLAND, May 18, 2023 — The Office of the Prime Minister today posted a collection of photos on Facebook taken at the Cat Island Business Outlook that we decided to share with readers of BAHAMAS CHRONICLE, which has a huge following among the Bahamian diaspora across the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom and, of course, The Bahamas and the wider Caribbean. They were posted with the following narrative:
“A Bold Vision for Cat Island” was the theme at today’s Cat Island Business Outlook, with Prime Minister Davis discussing exciting developments intended to foster economic growth in Cat Island.
Outlining significant upgrades to airports, roads, schools and clinics, Prime Minister Davis also announced government approval of a $160.45 million mixed-use resort, residential, and marina project in Cat Island. The project will create up to 300 Bahamian jobs.
The government will also make crown land available to Cat Islanders for the construction of a second home or other approved developments on a lease-to-own basis.
By unlocking our islands’ potential, we drive overall economic growth and strengthen the entire Bahamas.
