CHANCES DONATES $25,000 TO MAMMOGRAPHY PROGRAM

By OSWALD T. BROWN

WASHINGTON, D.C. — For more reason than one, I had to share this photo. Raymond R.H. Culmer, CEO of Jarol Investments, Ltd. and CHANCES GAMES, headquartered on Logwood Road in Freeport, Grand Bahama, has been a strong supporter of BAHAMAS CHRONICLE with an ongoing advertisement from it was established several years ago.

R.H. Culmer, left, is pictured with his daughter Janure Culmer, who commissioned artist Matthew Wildgoose (second from right) to paint this portrait as a gift to her father on his birthday in 2019.

Moreover, during my current financial problems, R.H. has over the past three years made generous financial contributions to me personally when certain deadlines approached for me to pay my outstanding bills. As a regular patron of CHANCES when I lived in Freeport for 12 years before returning to Washington, D.C., to become Press, Cultural Affairs and Information Manager at the Embassy of The Bahamas for four-plus years before my diplomatic status was revoked by the former FNM government, I want to publicly thank R.H. for his support over the years.

As the above photo reaffirms, Mr. Culmer’s  benevolence extends beyond support for close friends experiencing financial problems. This photo was posted on CHANCES Facebook Page with the following narrative:

“The Chances team is so excited to be able to give back to our community! We have donated $25,000 to Mammography Access Program, an organization formed in 2020 with the goal of giving Bahamian women increased access to testing and preventative care. We are so grateful for this opportunity!”
