COMMONWEALTH FINANCE MINISTERS MEETING AND COMMONWEALTH CENTRAL BANK GOVERNORS MEETING IN WASHINGTON, D.C.

Annual Commonwealth Finance Ministers Meeting in 2019

LONDON, England — Finance ministers will meet in person for the Commonwealth Finance Ministers Meeting (CFMM) on October 12, 2022, and the Commonwealth Central Bank Governors (CCBG) meeting on October 11 in Washington D.C.

The CFMM provides a uniquely informal platform for open and honest dialogue among a diverse group of countries on key economic issues.

A Road to Economic Recovery: A Macroeconomic Perspective

The Commonwealth Secretariat will convene Commonwealth Finance Ministers in the margins of the IMF/World Bank Annual meetings. This meeting will focus on “A Road to Economic Recovery: A Macroeconomic Perspective”, highlighting emerging economic issues relevant to our Commonwealth Countries. The 2022 CFMM will consider the adverse macroeconomic implications whilst recovering from the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. It is expected that Ministers will discuss measures to respond to unprecedented fiscal challenges to achieve the sustainable development goals (SDGs) to 2030.

Commonwealth Central Bank Governors Meeting (CCBG)

The Commonwealth Secretariat will convene the Commonwealth Central Bank Governors and Ministers of Finance meetings alongside the IMF/World Bank Annual Meetings. These meetings focus on themes that reflect key economic and sustainable development issues that are relevant for the 56 member countries.

Accordingly, the 2022 Commonwealth Finance Ministers Meeting (CFMM) and the Commonwealth Central Bank Governors Meeting (CCBG) will both focus on the recovery trajectory for Commonwealth member states, particularly pertaining to challenges with debt and rising inflation.
