CONSULAR ANNEX HOSTS SECOND ANNUAL OPEN HOUSE

WASHINGTON, D.C., November 27, 2023 — The Bahamas Embassy Consular Annex hosted its 2nd Annual Open House on Friday, November 17, 2023.

Opening the evening’s event, Consul General Patrick Adderley said, “There are three missions here to serve you — The Embassy of the Commonwealth of the Bahamas, headed by Ambassador Wendall K. Jones; Organization of American States (OAS), headed by Ambassador Chet Neymour;  and the Bahamas Consular Annex, headed by Consul General Patrick Adderley”.

He added, “The Consular Annex is the “FACE” who connects and engages the Bahamian diaspora daily, through the various services provided but not limited to, trade and investment, cultural and tourism affairs, community outreach, passport renewals, Bahamian tourist visas, document authentications, and distressed nationals in Washington, D.C., with oversight of the 23 surrounding states. We are here to connect and engage our fellow Bahamians, bridging the gap between the diaspora and the Commonwealth of the Bahamas.”

Attendees were treated to a sampling of the country’s local dishes, such as fried snapper, peas n rice, conch chowder, guava pudding, and an array of soft beverages, including Gully Wash, aka Sky Juice, and Kalik as a pallet teaser.
