D’AGUILAR SAYS TAX STUDY WON’T CHANGE ANYTHING

NASSAU, Bahamas — The results of a study into the new tax structure for the gaming industry will not cause the government to change course, Minister of Tourism Dionisio D’Aguilar said yesterday, the Nassau Guardian reported on July 26.

On Sunday, Island Luck CEO Sebas Bastian told The Nassau Guardian that his company has agreed to delay its plan to lay off 350 employees to give authorities time to complete the tax impact study.

D’Aguilar, however, said yesterday the government asked the gaming house operators no such thing.

“The gaming houses operate a business and they can operate their business as they see fit,” said D’Aguilar outside Parliament. “They have made an allegation that this is going to cause a significant detrimental effect on their business and we’re seeking to see whether that’s indeed the case…”https://thenassauguardian.com/2018/07/26/daguilar-tax-study-wont-change-anything/
