DPM COOPER CONGRATULATES AMBASSADOR WENDALL JONES

NASSAU, Bahamas, February 23, 2022 — Deputy Prime Minister Chester Cooper posted the above photo on his Team  Cooper Facebook page with this brief narrative: “Congratulations H.E. Wendall Jones, Ambassador to the USA.”

EDITOR’S NOTE: I do not know what the occasion was, but from left to right are: Minister of Foreign Affairs Fred Mitchell, Lady Sharon  Wilson , Sir Franklyn Wilson, Ambassador Wendall Jones, Prime Minister Philip “Brave” Davis, First Lady Ann-Marie Davis, and DPM Cooper.

As I noted in a previous Facebook Post, Mr. Jones is one of the most accomplished journalists in The Bahamas, who over the past three decades has pioneered the creation of enterprises that have changed the face of Journalism and Communications in The Bahamas and he was an excellent choice to be The Bahamas’ top diplomatic representative in the United States.

I previously lived in Washington, D.C., for 20 years before returning to The Bahamas in 1992. However, I returned to D.C. in May of 2013 when I was appointed Press, Cultural Affairs and Information Manager at the Embassy of The Bahamas, a position I held until the Free National Movement became the government in May of 2017.

I decided to remain in D.C. after my diplomatic status was revoked by the FNM, but   I am now openly campaigning to be reinstated to my former position so that I can do all that I can to assist His Excellency Ambassador Jones in providing stellar diplomatic representation for The Bahamas in one  of the world’s most powerful countries.
