WASHINGTON, D.C., November 2, 2023 — Deputy Prime Minister Chester Cooper today presented a copy of his recently published book, “Fishinin on the Rocks”, to former Governor-General Dame Marguerite Pindling and used the occasion to describe Dame Marguerite as “a national treasure.”

As an Androsian who fully agrees with the Deputy Prine Minister’s description of one of the most revered and renowned daughters of Andros, of whom I am immensely proud, I absolutely had to share his comments and the photos he posted on Facebook with readers of my online publication, BAHAMAS CHRONICLE, which has a huge following among the Bahamian diaspora across the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom as well as in The Bahamas and the wider Caribbean.

In describing Dame Marguerite as national treasure, Deputy Prime Minister Cooper added, “The essence of poise, intelligence, beauty and dedication, God has blessed her richly, including with a long life filled with triumphs. She was an outstanding partner to the late great Sir Lynden Pindling and a shining beacon of The Bahamas as Governor General.

“Words fail to describe my admiration for her and how beyond honored I was to present her with my memoir, “Fishinin’ on the Rocks”. May God keep and protect her.”
