DPM COOPER: “WE PLAN TO BE INTENTIONAL ABOUT RESTORING VIBRANCY TO OUR ISLANDS”

Prime Minister Philip E. Davis and Deputy Prime Minister Chester Cooper in deep discussion at the Homecoming and Regatta held in honor of Prime Minister Davis in Cat Island last weekend.

NASSAU, Bahamas — Deputy Prime Minister Chester Cooper posted a collection of photos on Facebook on Sunday, August 13, 2023, accompanied by strongly supportive narrative in which he declares, “We plan to be intentional about restoring vibrancy to our islands.” We decided to share some of them with readers of BAHAMAS CHRONICLE, which has a huge following among the Bahamian diaspora across the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom as well as in The Bahamas and the wider Caribbean.

DPM Cooper posted the photos with the following narrative:

Last weekend, I went to the home of Rake N Scrape – the magnificent Cat Island. I was there to support Homecoming and the Regatta that was held in honor of Prime Minister Davis.

One of the things the Prime Minister and I have in common is a deep connection to the constituencies we represent. There is something about being raised in the Family Island that ties you the heart and soul of The Bahamas.

We plan to be intentional about restoring vibrancy to our islands. Overall, it was a great time connecting with my fellow Bahamians in the PM’s hometown and I can’t wait to return.

Chester Cooper, Your DPM and MP
