NASSAU, Bahamas — The Downtown Nassau Partnership (DNP) is hoping to present to Cabinet draft legislation for the establishment of business improvement districts (BIDs) within the next two to three weeks, according to DNP Managing Director Ed Fields.
“As we speak I just got the final draft of the business plan, we have already updated the draft legislation so we hopefully in the next two to three weeks will get that presented to Cabinet to get the bid put in place, so that we can look at the process of managing downtown,” Fields said in an interview with Guardian Business.
BIDs are intended to streamline and revolutionize the management of Downtown Nassau, according to Fields, giving the districts more autonomy over the maintenance of the city center. https://thenassauguardian.com/2018/09/20/draft-legislation-complete-for-establishment-of-business-improvement-districts/
