WASHINGTON, D.C., June 1, 2023 — The 95th Scripps National Spelling Bee will crown a champion tonight. The finals, broadcast live on ION and Bounce, will begin at 8 p.m. ET in the Maryland Ballroom at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center in National Harbor, Maryland.

The day started with 121 quarterfinalists. A field of 56 spellers advanced to the semifinals, approximately 17% more than the number of spellers who advanced to the 2022 semifinals.
