FREEPORT, Grand Bahama, February 23, 2024 — Yesterday, the Grand Bahama Business Outlook unfolded at the Grand Lucayan Resort’s Convention Center, setting the stage for an incredible future for our island.
Our Keynote Speaker, Deputy Prime Minister I. Chester Cooper, who is also Minister of Tourism, Investments and Aviation, revealed that Grand Bahama Island was a shining star in 2023, welcoming 559,812 out of the 9.65 million visitors to The Bahamas. 🌍
This impressive feat reflects the island’s resilience and allure as a premier tourist destination. Notably, Grand Bahama stands as the fastest-growing destination in The Bahamas by air arrival and the third fastest-growing island overall.
But that’s not all! Carnival Corporation is boosting its investment in Grand Bahama, increasing it from $500 million to a whopping $600 million. The future is bright, and Grand Bahama is more than ready to embrace this growth and new investments. We are geared up and excited for what lies ahead!
Did you know that Grand Bahama Island spans 530 square miles, with the bustling Freeport/Lucaya area taking up approximately 230 square miles? While the current population stands at around 50,000, the infrastructure can accommodate a city population of 250,000.
With over 30 years of experience in the tourism industry, I see these investments as a golden opportunity to expand and enhance our visitor offerings. The economic activity is already making waves, and we’re set to leverage the marketing spotlight on “Grand Bahama” to our advantage.
Let’s unite with our investors and spread the word globally—Investing in Grand Bahama is a “Grand” affair. If you’re ready to explore investment opportunities in the Freeport Lucaya area, give me a call. I know a guy
