CHICAGO, Illinois, February 15, 2020 — Sacramento Kings guard Buddy Hield is pictured with his family after winning his first MTN Dew 3-point Contest on Saturday night at the United Center in Chicago. In a post-contest interview, Buddy – who was born and grew up in Grand Bahama, one of the two northern islands of The Bahamas devastated by Hurricane Dorian last September — dedicated the win to the survivors and victims of Hurricane Dorian.
Participants in the 2020 NBA All-Star Three-Point Contest included: Buddy Hield of the Sacramento Kings; Trae Young of the Atlanta Hawks; Zach Lavine of the Chicago Bulls; Joe Harris of the Brooklyn Nets; Davis Bertans of the Washington Wizards; Devonte’ Graham of the Charlotte Hornets; Duncan Robinson of the Miami Heat; and Damian Lillard of the Portland Trail Blazers. Hield scored 27 points out of a maximum 40 in the finals to top Booker’s 26. Bertans poured in 22 points as the first of the three shooters in the finals, but Booker — filling in as an injury replacement for Damian Lillard — immediately eliminated Bertans by knocking down seven of his last 10 shots.
