WASHINGTON, D.C., Sept. 21, 2023 – First Lady Ann Marie Davis today shared an extensive collection of photos on Facebook that were taken in New York at an event celebrating World Peace Day, during which she had the honour to ring “the Peace Bell for the Bahamas.”
I could not repost all of them, but I absolutely had to share a selected group of them with readers of my online publication, BAHAMAS CHRONICLE, which has a huge following among Bahamians in the diaspora cross the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom as well as in The Bahamas and the wider Caribbean.
Mrs. Davis posted the photos with the following narrative:
“Still at UNGA 78 – NY. It’s World Peace Day – September 21st. 2023. Rang the Peace Bell for the Bahamas and the world and celebrated the Bahamas and all that it’s doing to bring peace in our nation. Ending Gender Based Violence, Discrimination, Inequality, Inequity. Improving opportunities for women with disabilities, Improving equality in the workplace etc etc – everything that makes for Peace. Let us continue to embrace our quest for peace and build a better world. Peace in the family, peace in the streets.”
