WASHINGTON, D.C., March 10, 2024 – Describing her International Women’s Day activities in Grand Bahama yesterday as “one of my best spent days”, Bahamas First Lady Ann Marie Davis posted an extensive collection of photos on Facebook today, and I absolutely had to share some of them with readers of my Washington, D.C. – based online publication, BAHAMAS CHRONICLE, which has a huge following among the Bahamian diaspora across the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom as well as in The Bahamas and the wider Caribbean.
The First Lady was the and keynote speaker for the International Women’s Day Luncheon that was attended by “50 leading women from various fields in Grand Bahama,” which she described as “a significant gathering celebrating their remarkable achievements and contributions while raising funds for local charities.”
“So much fun, toasting, laughter, dancing, painting,” the First Lady noted in the narrative that accompanied the photos she posted.
Mrs. Davis added, “Afterwards, got the chance to inspect how well my breadfruit trees are growing at Tripp Circle. Toured the COLLAB facility, which is so helpful to communities in Grand Bahama. Congrats to Hon. Ginger Moxey for establishing a well outfitted and functioning COLLAB unit.”
In the narrative that accompanied another collection of photos she posted that were taken at the launch of Fashion Week in Grand Bahama, another International Women’s Day evening event, Mrs. Davis said, “All levels of seating sold out. Classic and chic designs by Grand Bahama’s finest designers. Out of town guests attended. Fashion everywhere. A fantastic evening. Grand Bahama got lots of talent.”
