WASHINGTON, D.C., October 13, 2022 — Since taking up his appointment as Bahamas Ambassador to the United States, His Excellency Wendall Jones has received many Bahamians in the diaspora at the Bahamian Embassy in Washington D.C.

On Thursday, October 13, Lester Ferguson, Corps Administrator of The Salvation Army in D.C., updated Ambassador Jones on his new role. Formerly The Divisional Commander of the Salvation Army in The Bahamas and Jamaica, Mr. Ferguson now heads The Solomon G. Brown Corps Community Center in Washington, 2300 Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue, S.E.

“Nearly a decade ago, the Southeast D.C. community gave birth to a vision of hope: the Solomon G. Brown Corps Community Center. Home to multiple community partners, inside the five-story building the most critical needs of the Southeast D.C. community are being met,” according to its website.

Solomon G. Brown Corps Center in D.C., provides the Salvation Army a place of worship and space in which to deliver community extension services, including day-care, workforce training and wellness programs.
