NASSAU, Bahamas, June 17, 2024 — Twenty-six men from various sectors of society were honored Saturday night by The Fox Foundation as a part of its Legacy of Leaders Father’s Day tribute event held at the Atlantis Resort on Paradise Island on Saturday night, June 15.
Dr. Adrian Fox, founder of the foundation, noted the importance of supporting men in the local community through this initiative, adding, ““If we show support to fathers, we set the example for younger generations to follow.
His co-founder daughter Adriana Fox said, “We have a lot of legacy men who are strong leaders and dedicated to their families and their children. We hope that when young fathers are able to see what they do they will become better.”
At the event, Dr. Fox was awarded the Legacy Builder Award. Other honors included Prime Minister Philip E. Davis, who received the Visionary and Father of the Year Award; Bahamian Wayne Jones, the first black police chief of Miami-Dade, who received Inspirational Leader A; and Former Prime Minister Perry G. Christie, who received the Lifetime Achievement Award.
Others honored included: Michael Pintard, Sebastian Bastian, Clay Sweeting, Keith Bell, Dirk Simmons, Leslie Miller, Renward Wells, Robert (Sandy) Sands, Felix Stubbs, Gowon Bowe. Dr. Robin Roberts, Ian Mills, Jeffery Kerr, Anthony Pratt, Jimmy Mosko, Clayton Fernander, Raymond King, Wayne Jones, Graeme Davis, Raymond Wells, Dr. Delton Fernander, Antone Brooks, Vernon Gregory Wilkinson and Bernard Bonamy
An entrepreneur and philanthropist, Dr. Fox is a co-founder of Island Luck, one of the leading lottery, casino and sports betting enterprises in The Bahamas
Following his success in business, he launched the Fox Foundation in order to give back to his community. The Foundation is dedicated to supporting and enriching the lives of Bahamians in the spheres of Education, Youth Development, Community Building and Disaster Relief.
