FROM COCONUT GROVE TO THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL’S RESIDENCE

FANTASTIC PHOTO: I absolutely love this fantastic photo posted on his Facebook page on Friday, September 1, by Latrae Lorenz Rahming of Her Excellency Cynthia A. Pratt, the 12th Governor-General of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas, inspecting a guard of honour made up of young female cadets during her swearing-in  as Governor-General on Friday.

Can you imagine the impact that she must have had on these young ladies, knowing that there are no barriers to their own accomplishments in life? I unquestionably had to share this  excellent photo with readers of my online publication, BAHAMAS CHRONICLE, which has a huge following among the Bahamian diaspora across the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom as well as in The Bahamas and the wider Caribbean.

Latrae, who is the Director of Communication at the Office of Prime Minister, posted this classic photo with the following narrative:

“Congratulations to Her Excellency Most Honourable Cynthia “Mother” Pratt on her appointment as the Governor General!  She is a true Bahamian icon, from a nurse to an impactful educator and from the world of sports to the highest echelons of government. Your journey from Coconut Grove to the Governor General’s residence is a testament to your resilience, leadership, and service. May you continue to inspire and lead with grace and wisdom.” (Photo Credit: Marvin Thompson OPM)
