GBPA CHIEF INVETSMENT OFFICER PAYS COURTESY CALL ON BAHAMIAN AMBASSADORS AND CONSUL GENERAL IN WASHINGTON, D.C.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Mr. Derek Newbold, Chief Investment Officer at the Grand Bahama Port Authority (GBPA) recently met with His Excellency Wendall Jones, Bahamas Ambassador to the United States; His Excellency Ambassador Chet Neymour, Permanent Representative to the Organization of American States(OAS), and Mr. Patrick Adderley, Bahamas Consul General to Washington, D.C.

During the meetings, Mr. Newbold shared GBPA’s vision and the various economic projects currently underway in Freeport, Grand Bahama.

Additionally, he raised the matter as to how Bahamian Missions and the GBPA can build a stronger and more cohesive relationship to promote greater investments for Grand Bahama.

In response, Ambassador Jones reaffirmed the government’s commitment to identifying and attracting investment for Grand Bahama and, in particular, the Grand Bahama International Aiport.

Further, Ambassador Neymour assured Mr. Newbold that the Mission is excited to work with the GBPA to bring about exposure for Grand Bahama and to ensure that the island receives adequate technical assistance as it relates to sustainable, capacity and educational development.

Consul General Adderley again applauded GBPA’s GB Ambassadors Program and its commitment to better the lives of the Grand Bahamian community.
