GIBSON HITS BACK AT McALPINE’S CRITICISMS OF LONDON TRIP

NASSAU, Bahamas — Water and Sewerage Corporation (WSC) Executive Chairman Adrian Gibson said Pineridge MP Frederick McAlpine’s assertion last week that the WSC board unnecessarily traveled to London, England, at the expense of Bahamian taxpayers is false at multiple levels and unfortunate.

Gibson, who stressed that a handful of WSC members joined him, said the trip was partially funded by the corporation’s partners in the UK and represented value for money.

Asked how the trip was funded and how much it cost, Gibson said, “I would not have the cost of that trip on hand, but I can tell you that the people that went on that trip — it was about four persons that went on that trip — and it was not very expensive because many of the people were in economy on that long ride over, and our partners assisted us with some of the expenses related to that trip, yes.”

He also said the visit, which involved a series of technical meetings, will save the corporation millions of dollars per year. https://thenassauguardian.com/2018/10/01/gibson-hits-back-at-mcalpines-criticisms-of-london-trip/
