The Bahamas’ Golden Jubilee Independence celebrations continue on with the traditional “Beat Retreat” event, a vibrant homage to our history and military spirit. Drums, once used for battlefield communication, symbolized the end of the working day and the beginning of Guard Mounting. Today, with spectacular brass bands and military ensembles, it’s a colorful spectacle of significance that fills the hearts of all armed forces and celebrates our 50th Independence!
