NASSAU, Bahamas — The consensus is unanimous among Bahamians that Her Excellency the Most Hon. Dame Marguerite Pindling, Governor General of The Bahamas, has set a standard of excellence in performing her duties that whomever succeeds her in that position will be hard-pressed to equal. The dignity and grace that she exemplify in matters of an official nature have won her widespread praise generally, but it is her compassionate outreach to “long-time friends” from during that period in her life when even she referred to herself as a “little barefoot girl from Andros” that many Bahamians will recall after she is no longer Governor General.
